2. Baumer VeriSens CS Series Smart Cameras for Machine Vision

VeriSens CS SeriesIn the last post, you were introduced to Baumer’s powerful VeriSens family of smart cameras for machine vision. The entry-level Baumer VeriSens CS Series of monochrome smart cameras comes equipped with a 752 x 480 1/3-type CMOS sensor, integrated 10 or 16 mm lens, and choice of infrared or white-light illumination to provide an all-in-one solution.

As with other series within the VeriSens family, the CS Series cameras are capable of checking up to 32 features simultaneously. This makes the smart camera useful for stringent, high-speed inspection applications in which accuracy and repeatability are key, including a wide variety of check and sort operations and reading 1D and 2D codes. Equipped with FEXLoc® 360° position recognition capabilities, the Baumer VeriSens CS Series is great for inspecting parts in changing positions or disparate locations.

Other capabilities include:

  • Up to five freely definable outputs for part sorting
  • Optical character recognition and verification (OCR/OCV) without prior font training
  • A built-in encoder interface ideal for path-based ejection and triggering

In the next post we’ll take a look at the VeriSens ID Series, an ideal choice for identifying bar codes, including GS1, and matrix codes.
