New Line of Genie Nano-5G Machine Vision Cameras Leverage 5GigE Interface

New Genie Nano-5G GigE Cameras Teledyne Dalsa recently unveiled a whole new line of machine vision cameras, the Genie Nano-5G, that leverage a 5GigE interface for high-speed data capture and transfer. This latest addition to the Genie Nano series was specifically engineered to offer a smaller body size, higher resolution, faster frame rate and lower deployment costs than the Camera Link and 10GigE Genie Nano cameras.

With simple cabling and proprietary camera technology, the Genie Nano-5G family of machine vision cameras truly redefines high performance.

Genie Nano-5G Combines the Benefits of GigE and Industry Leading Sensors

The Genie Nano-5G cameras leverage the industry’s top sensors, including CMOS image sensors from Sony, Teledyne e2v, and ON Semi. This variety of image sensors creates a wide range of resolutions and speed to choose from. The Genie Nano-5G camera series ranges from VGA to 31.5 megapixels resolution, and from 63 fps to 190 fps when using Teledyne Dalsa’s proprietary Turbo Drive technology to increase frame rates by nearly 150%.

The GigE interface allows for unusually fast transfer of large amounts of image data. This, in combination with the industry’s top sensors, make the Genie Nano-5G family of cameras capable of fast, high quality imaging in a wide range of settings.

Technical Specifications of the Genie Nano-5G Cameras

The initial launch of the Genie Nano-5G series includes 8 new cameras, with more to come in the future. Among these 8 new cameras, the Sony IMX252, IMX250, IMX255, and IMX253 sensors are all used for monochrome and color versions. Each camera features a 3.45µm pixel size and a 76.46dB dynamic range. Ranging from 2/3” to 1/1.8” optical format, these cameras are all highly compact, measuring 32mm x 44mm x 59 mm with a c-mount lens mount.

The impressive technical features of the Genie nano-5G cameras are relevant for a number of industries and applications, including:

  • Industrial automation
  • Electronics manufacturing
  • Packaging inspection
  • Semiconductor inspection
  • PCB-AOI (automated optical inspection)
  • Sport & entertainment high speed capture
