IMX174 – outstanding image quality 

In addition to these basics, the new models offer the outstanding image quality benefits of the Sony IMX174 imager. This CMOS global shutter imager features large 5.86-micron pixels for excellent sensitivity in both visible and NIR. More importantly, the imager features deep pixel wells capable of holding more than 30,000 electrons and a low-noise architecture adapted from Sony’s CCD technology. As a result, the GO-2400-PMCL provides absolute sensitivity and signal-to-noise characteristics that exceed even those of comparable CCD models, while delivering much higher frame rates and overall performance. 

Dual Camera Link interface 

Lastly, the new models are equipped with a two-channel Mini Camera Link interface, providing Camera Link’s famous low latency, deterministic signaling and image capture. For customers needing the highest trigger accuracy with high frame rates, the GO-2400-PMCL models provide an excellent solution. 

Other key features and differences 

The GO-2400-PMCL has an almost identical set of features as the PGE models: 

Single and multi-ROI: Both models can be windowed down to a small ROI or can provide multiple ROIs in a single field of view – something that most competitive cameras do not offer. However, in the PMCL models, multi-ROIs cannot be overlapped like they can in the PGE models. 

Monochrome binning: Both cameras offer binning in their monochrome models for higher sensitivity. 1x2, 2x2, and 2x1 binning is possible. 

Look-up tables: like the PGE models, the GO-2400-PMCL has a 256-point Look-up Table to customize the gamma characteristics. 

Two power choices: Like the GO-2400-PGE, users of the GO-2400-PMCL have two options for powering the camera. The GO-2400-PMCL can accept power over the Mini Camera Link interface but can also be powered via a separate 4-pin connector. This gives customers additional I/O lines (TTL), as well as the option to use less expensive, non-powered frame grabbers when it makes business sense to do so. 

Optional P-iris configuration: Customers can order the GO-2400M-PMCL (monochrome model) with a special “AUX1” configuration, whereby the 4-pin connector is converted from a power/TTL connector to a P-iris control port. Presets are available for 7 popular C-mount P-iris lenses, as well as an “Other” setting, which can be used to configure controls for lenses not included in the presets. In this optional configuration, camera power must be supplied via Camera Link. Accidentally connecting a power supply to the 4-pin P-iris connector may damage the unit. 

Other features include ALC (integrated auto gain and auto shutter), auto white balance, as well as blemish compensation and block-based shading correction.
