The SW-4000TL-PMCL features a new "state of the art" CMOS trilinear sensor, providing color line scan capabilities in a smaller, more affordable configuration than JAI's industry-leading Sweep+ Series prism line scan cameras. For customers who don't require the highest color precision and single-optical-plane advantages of prism cameras, the SW-4000TL-PMCL is an excellent choice.
With a resolution of 3 x 4096 pixels per line and a top speed of 66 kHz, the SW-4000TL-PMCL is one of the fastest 4K trilinear cameras in the market. More importantly for developers of color line scan-based vision systems, the SW-4000TL-PMCL includes a wider range of advanced features than those offered by most other high performance trilinear alternatives.
Color space conversion
Included is a set of built-in color space conversion functions to provide system designers with direct camera output in the format their application requires. This includes RGB to HSI conversion and RGB to CIE XYZ conversion. Alternative RGB color gamuts are also supported, such as sRGB, Adobe RGB, and user custom RGB color spaces.
Horizontal and vertical binning
While the standard 7.5-micron square pixels provide high responsivity, applications requiring extra sensitivity can benefit from the SW-4000TL-PMCL's unique binning capabilities. The SW-4000TL-PMCL supports 2X horizontal binning, two-line vertical binning, or both. Binned pixels use shared floating diffusion nodes for readout to dramatically improve sensitivity while minimizing readout noise.
Direct encoder connection
Rather than requiring encoder signals to be routed through the frame grabber, the SW-4000TL-PMCL supports direct connection of the encoder to the camera to minimize cabling, reduce the occurrence of dropped line data, and automatically detect changes in scan direction. Encoder signals can also be daisy-chained from one SW-4000TL-PMCL to another to synchronize multi-camera configurations.
Spatial Compensation and tilted view correction
The SW-4000TL-PMCL is equipped with an intelligent sub-pixel spatial compensation function to account for the three-line spacing on the target and avoid problems with halos or color fringes in the image. Other routines are provided to correct for keystone effects and chromatic aberrations that can be caused when the camera's viewing angle is not perpendicular to the target web.
The SW-4000TL-PMCL boasts high shock (80G) and vibration (10G) ratings for reliable performance in industrial environments. RGB output is via a two-channel Camera Link (Mini) interface which supports Base, Medium, Full, or Deca tap configurations.
Extensive I/O and trigger options are provided by a 12-pin connector, and auxiliary 10-pin connector, and the Camera Link interface itself.
Dimensions for the main camera body are 62 x 62 x 71.6 mm (H x W x L) with total length dependent on the lens mount. M42 and F-mount models are available.
Power can be provided over the Mini Camera Link interface or via the 12-pin connector and a separate power supply (optional).
