Skoopia Block Cameras
Block cameras are primarily used in environments where optical zoom is required to avoid loss of resolution. Applications of block cameras include the transport industry (drones, airplanes, hoists), robotics (pipe inspection robots), metrology, and medical applications such as microscopy, low vision, or visually impaired, dental, operating room.
To provide all relevant markets and applications a suitable solution, Skoopia offers three lines of block cameras:
The first line of block cameras is focused on providing video outputs integrated into the product. Target applications are primarily found in industrial applications. This product line starts with 20Z for the block cameras with 1/3" Nuvoton sensor and 22Z / 60Z for the block cameras with 1/1.8" Sony Starvis Exmor R sensors (IMX385).
The second line of block cameras makes use of superior optics with lower aberration and customizable firmware for applications requiring specific zoom/focus behavior. These products have seen successful implementations in numerous medical applications, but also in industrial and specialty applications (broadcast or video conferencing). The product line starts with 21Z for block cameras with 1/2.8" Sony Starvis Exmor R sensors (IMX3X7) and 23Z / 85Z for block cameras with 1/1.8" Sony Starvis Exmor R Sensor (IMX385 / IMX334).
The third line of block cameras is Global Shutter Block cameras. These products have seen successful implementations in numerous medical and industrial applications where high-speed or fast rotation of scenery needs to be captured. The product G20Z for block cameras with 1/2.3" Sony Pregius sensors (IMX392) and different outputs (LVDS vs SDI). For this specialty block camera, we also offer a housed version.
Block cameras having SDI output (21Z10S, 21Z30S, 20Z10S-NF, 20Z30S) can be converted to IP blocks using the Skoopia 21X2-IP5 SDI to IP video server, offering full control of the block camera over IP.
