Skoopia Board Level Cameras

Board level cameras are primarily used by OEMs that integrate the imaging solution in their specific product. Applications of board level cameras are found in industry as well as in medical applications.  Applications include the transport industry (drones, airplanes, hoists), robotics (pipe inspection, surgery), metrology, beroscopy, but also medical applications such as endoscopy, microscopy, visually impaired aids, dental imaging, operating room lighting.

To provide all relevant markets and applications a suitable solution, Skoopia offers three lines of board level cameras:

The first type of imaging solution is the AHD/TVI board level cameras. AHD stands for Analog High Definition. AHD provides the step-up in higher resolution replacing CVBS video signals (PAL camera / NTSC camera). Key advantages of AHD: Low latency and flexible cabling (like CVBS) combined with low bandwidth allowing long-distance Full HD transmission without amplification.

The second type of imaging solution is the SDI board level cameras. SDI stands for Serial Digital Interface. SDI provides the step-up in higher resolution, super-low latency while providing a digital signal, making it extremely useful for A.I. type applications as well as specific applications in which compression of the signal is not desired. Key advantages of SDI: Low latency (alike CVBS), combined with superior image quality (digital and uncompressed equals 100% image quality)

The third type of imaging solution is the IP board level cameras. IP stands for Internet Protocol. IP cameras are dominant in security, but adoption in industrial and medical applications is also significant. If latency or board size is less of an issue IP cameras are often a more flexible solution. Key advantages of IP cameras: unique address, accessible anywhere, anyhow, anytime, high compression rates, multiple video resolutions

Skoopia board level cameras excel in size (both SDI and AHD cameras are available in very small (22mm x 26mm single-board camera) and super small (14mm x 14mm single-board camera) and conformity (single API for all IP cameras).

All Skoopia cameras allow for direct commands (VISCA, I2C, IP – API), maximizing the operator efficiency.
